Item shipped USPS which means delivery is delayed. The remote seems to work fine with old plugged in receiver. The new remote control button labels are difficult to visualize (small grey letters on black unit), but I will eventually memorize the layout. Biggest issue is that thermostat reads about 2.6 degrees higher than the two other new temperature gauges to which I have compared it, and the same is true when compared with the old remote which still works in the manual mode. So, unless I am missing something the thermostat is defective and the remote needs to be replaced. So now I get to call in Monday and see what my service option are

The product is fine but should be sold with the remote separately from the receiver. I had to buy both but I only needed the remote.

Just like my old one, only with a plug for power, not batteries.

I have had this unit for a couple of months but we are just getting to heating season to really try it out.1st - I picked a unit with 110v wall unit and battery remote out of laziness. I did not want to trouble shoot which set of batteries were worn out on the full battery controller types. On the rare times we have full power outage locally, I can always turn on my heat stove manually.2nd - I gave it four stars ( I wish I could have a 4.5 selection ) because I value 5 stars as absolute greatness (think - walk on water) and should be reserved for that. The unit works fine. I limited my selections to units that had count down timers. Unfortunately the timer is poorly documented in the included instructions. I had to find the instructions for a related unit to get an idea about the units on the timer. Turns out they are in minutes, and the limit is 120 minutes (2 hours). I would have preferred coarser units (like quarter hours) to speed up scrolling, and maybe 3 hour limit. Here is the good news - you can use the down arrow to scroll from the start, and this brings you right to 120 minutes!

Good instructions easy to use
